Who we are

PodPulse Digest ("PodPulse", "we", "us") is a subscription service that turns the podcasts you follow into written summaries, prioritised digests and audio highlights. This policy explains what we store and why. If anything here is unclear, reach us through the Help & Support page.

What we collect

  • Account details. Your email address and password (stored only as an encrypted hash), your display name if you provide one, and your language and time zone preferences.
  • Your podcast library. The feeds you subscribe to, keyword alerts, priority rules, digest schedule and the episodes we fetch from those public feeds.
  • Generated content. Summaries, transcripts, highlights, digests and any questions you ask our episode assistant, so you can come back to them later.
  • Usage information. How much transcription and summarisation you have used, for fair-use limits and your Hour Bank statistics.
  • Payment information. Handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we keep only your subscription status and renewal dates.

How summaries are produced

To create a summary, highlight or answer, we send the episode's public audio, transcript or description to third-party AI providers acting on our behalf. We do not send them your name, email address or payment details, and we do not allow that content to be used to train their models.

How we use your data

We use your data to run the service you signed up for: fetching new episodes, generating and storing summaries, sending the emails you expect (sign-in confirmations, password resets and billing notices), enforcing fair-use limits, preventing abuse, and improving the product in aggregate. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only with the service providers needed to operate PodPulse: our hosting and database provider, our AI providers, our email delivery provider and Stripe for payments. Each processes data only on our instructions. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we remove your profile, subscriptions, summaries, transcripts, highlights and chat history. Limited billing records are kept where accounting rules require it, and backups roll off within 30 days.

Your choices

  • Change your email, language and preferences at any time in Settings.
  • Unsubscribe from a show to stop collecting new episodes from it.
  • Cancel your subscription whenever you like, from the Billing page.
  • Request a copy of your data, a correction, or full deletion by contacting us through the Help & Support page.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser storage strictly to keep you signed in and to remember interface preferences such as theme, language and which subject filters you have hidden. We do not use advertising cookies.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted per account by database-level rules, and passwords require at least 8 characters. No service can promise perfect security, but we work to keep your data safe and will notify you if a breach affects you.

Children

PodPulse Digest is not intended for anyone under 16 years of age.

Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know by email.
